I checked this out, but is it really cool? There has to be more to travel mobile apps than a location aware database. Watching the video reminded me of something I'd seen before and then I remembered, my GPS. OK I don't ever update the dataset on my GPS and it doesn't offer 'cool' landscape / portrait flips, but ultimately it serves the same purpose.
As a user, mobile travel apps are most powerful when an application can splice across multiple data sources intelligently to guide, inform and inspire you as you go. Kind of a virtual tour guide / concierge that can pull together travel writing from LP or Michelin Guides and offers / reviews from lastminute & tripadvisor
