I don't get it? What's your point?

Chris:

Both businesses operating in the same space (albeit with slightly different models) and launch very similar affiliate programmes within the space of a few weeks!

The move perhaps signals how important innovative affiliate programmes are becoming in the travel sector.

It is good to see both recognising this in such a public way (many travel firms don't bother) and launching quite similar products in terms of their user interface.

That's all...

...seen this for a while on various affilitae programmes... so, as Chris says... what's your point? Indeed affiliatefuture even have a holiday search engine (bit convoluted but they have been doing for free, for quite a few years now, what Comtec wants pushing 200 quid a month for). Methinks someone is spending too much time on social networks and not long enough watching whats going on :-)

@murray - you appear to spend a reasonable amount of time yourself criticising people on blogs and the comments sections of other sites, so touche...

However, I'm sure Advantage is in safe hands. :-)

My point (produced for not any major dramatic effect), as reiterated above, is simply that two firms operating in the same space have launched similar products within a very short space of time.

We have already written previously about Affiliate Future's excellent and similar programme for its own merchants and publishers. In fact it was overhauled last summer but was pioneered in travel by Maziah Darvish and his team at IBG before he left AF last year.

Ouch!

fair enough....

And, over the weeks to come, a third company operating in the same space will be launching an affiliate program too: www.whichbudget.com

We certainly recognise the importance of affiliate marketing (after all, AM represents a large part of our business model) website owners expect and demand to be paid for generating traffic and sale volumes for us.

'245':

stunning insight, thank you.
